How can the BCS Championship game truly be considered as such. The general public has railroaded into accepting this travesty is actually a true championship. the reality is that Division IA football as it was refered to in past years, is the only sport that does not have a true champion or championship game. Without a true playoff system the mythical BCS championship is just that and nothing more. Until a team can come thru the rigors of a playoff they are not the champion. As the saying goes "on any given weekend." We will never know if a Boise State, TCU, Wisconsin, Nevada etc.. can come from nowhere to win a cahampionship or at least earn the right to compete for one.
South Carolina was not considered the favorite for the NCAA baseball chapionship. Did anyone truly believe we would have a Duke vs Butler basketball championship game. Let us not for get Duke v UNLV part 2 or NC State v Phi Slamma Jamma. Until the NCAA pulls its collective heads out of you know where the BCS Championship game is just another bowl game. The winner has no more real claim to the title as the runner-up.
